3. You Shall Not Misuse The Name Of The Lord Your God

Exodus 20 v 7
7 “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
How often do we hear people swearing and using the Lords Name in Vain, never really thinking to much about it?
It’s nearly every day, in schools, colleges, the work place, your neighbors, why the list is really endless as to where we hear people using the Name of the Lord in Vain.
I have even heard those in the ministry using the name of the Lord in Vain.
So what does it really mean, the Lords Name is Holy, to use it in a way that would Not bring it Glory would indeed be a Sin.
We need to kindly correct those who are using the Lords Name in Vain, and if they object then turn away from them. The same can be said if some one causes us to Sin to Stay Away from them.
Mark 9:42
“And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.”
